Morning! I’m staying true to my new years resolution to keep up with the blog. I’m really enjoying coming up with ideas for this recurring post, taking notes on interesting things I’ve come across. This week I’m taking some inspiration from my trip last week to Aruba.. it’s all about the palm leaf pattern. This pattern has been around forever, it fits into so many different design styles. Of course one of the most iconic spots this pattern is hanging in is the beverly hills hotel. It’s chic, fun, playful and will stand the test of time. Here are some great shoots of the palm pattern installed I found on Pinterest..

Lately I’ve been into the more modern take on this pattern. There are so many versions, in interesting color combinations. I installed this palm print paper in a guest bathroom for a client last week and love how it turned out. It totally changed the look of the room. We chose to do the one back wall in the space for more of an impact having the contrast of the other light walls. The black background of the wallpaper gave it a more edgy than sweet feel which fits perfectly in this space. Everything else was kept simple and black to pull out the background color.

Here are some other versions I am currently wanting..

Obviously having a whole wall or room of this palm print wallpaper can feel a little, shall we say, aggressive for some. (*Side note: wallpaper is not like it used to be, you will not be rolling over it with that weird tool with teeth for 20 hours that actually ends up ruining your walls, I have little PTSD from doing that with my dad in 2003, but I needed cupcake pink walls and ceiling so it had to be done. Don’t be scared of it ) I really like the print being brought in through pillows and accessories as well. The print brings in an overall playfulness and brightness to a room, a small dose of it can totally revamp a room. Check out some of these less intense options I’ve found !

Here’s how I would use the print in a space..
