Hey hey !

Ok, so we’re on week three of the ORC www.oneroomchallenge.com/orc-blog

This past week of the ORC has been a bit of a slow one. There are a lot of things ” in motion” but not much to show for on my end. The upholsterer has my banquette frame built, my wallpaper has arrived and is waiting (impatiently) to be installed, and new chairs have been chosen. With this bit of lull time I thought I would start thinking about the second layers I want to add to the room. Having the large furniture pieces picked out and set is a major part of the design, but the accessories and details are what really make a room.

First I wanted to think about the table settings.. the whole idea of this room it to have friends over since we have another area for everyday dining. I like the idea of having some fun pop elements on the table. One thing I’m really into right now is colored glassware, and I found a lot I like at Zara home and anthropology.

For the place settings I think I want to keep it fairly neutral with a pop of gold..

How cute are these napkins.. they have vintage love letters written on them!

For the other side of the room, which is more of the “bar accessory” side I wanted to make sure to tie in some black accents. There will be a console table with black iron and marble which is essentially a wine rack, which leaves a fairly decent size wall empty. I’m going to do a bar cart there, mainly because I love the way a styled bar cart looks!

Hoping to have some bigger items tackled by next week!
